Operational Cyber Delivery Intelligence for MSPs

Turn MSP Security Delivery Into an Intelligent, Repeatable and Profitable Operation.

The problem

MSP security delivery is still too dependent on manual processes.

Many MSPs manage multiple clients with different security baselines, manually collect evidence across tenants, rely on individual technicians to carry out security reviews, and manage exceptions informally through tickets or email. The result is delivery that is hard to repeat, hard to evidence and hard to connect to commercial outcomes.

  • 83%

of MSPs said their security baselines were inconsistent across clients.

  • 81%

said security evidence gathering is manual.

  • 79%

reported manually generating monthly client cyber reports.

  • 78%

said security reviews depended heavily on individual technician judgement.

  • 74%

reported difficulty formally tracking security exceptions.

  • 69%

reported a lack of meaningful visibility into clients drifting away from agreed security controls.

About GIE

Built around the realities of MSP cybersecurity delivery.

Guardrail Intelligence Engine is a UK-based B2B SaaS platform designed specifically for Managed Service Providers. It is built around the operational reality of an MSP managing multiple client environments rather than a single organisation managing its own infrastructure.

GIE sits over the tooling an MSP already runs and turns security delivery data into operational intelligence — so delivery becomes repeatable, adaptive, evidenced, governed, measurable and commercially intelligent. The relationship is straightforward: GIE serves the MSP, and the MSP's SME clients benefit from more consistent and measurable cybersecurity services.

  • Learning from technician behaviour
  • Client-specific security guardrails
  • Continuous drift detection
  • Cross-tenant risk intelligence
  • Automatic evidence generation
  • Formal exception governance
  • Commercial intelligence

Validated with MSPs

A formal pilot study with 12 UK MSPs

Between February and April 2026, GIE was tested with 12 UK-based MSPs and 27 participants — technical managers, security leads, service desk managers and directors/owners — through surveys, discovery interviews and concept demonstrations. All participating MSPs used Microsoft 365 alongside PSA/RMM tooling.

  • 92%

    wanted client-specific security baselines.

  • 91%

    wanted automated drift monitoring.

  • 94%

    approved of automatic evidence generation.

  • 81%

    wanted posture-linked upsell intelligence.

  • 89%

considered the overall platform concept highly relevant.

  • 71%

indicated likely paid adoption once ROI is proven.

Early-stage pilot validation. The study was a purposive sample of 27 participants across 12 UK MSPs and is intended to validate the problem and demand within the target segment, not represent the entire UK market.

Innovation

Novelty in the combination, not just the parts

GIE's innovation lies in combining learning delivery models, client-adapted guardrails, formal exception governance, automatic evidence generation and commercial margin intelligence into one operational layer for MSP security delivery.

An independently commissioned novelty search identified novelty across six of the platform's seven core elements. Patent protection strategy in progress.

  • Learning delivery models
  • Client-adapted guardrails
  • Formal exception governance
  • Automatic evidence generation
  • Commercial margin intelligence

Platform

The Intelligence Layer Behind Better MSP Security Delivery

GIE combines seven core capabilities into a single operational intelligence platform built around the way MSPs actually deliver cybersecurity.

  • MODULE 01

    Security Delivery Genome

Learns from technician actions, ticket outcomes and remediation patterns to build a structured model of how the MSP delivers security across its client base.

  • MODULE 02

    Autonomous Guardrail Composer

Generates client-specific security control sets based on factors such as client size, sector, Microsoft 365 maturity, service tier and historical incident data.

  • MODULE 03

    Drift Detection Engine

Continuously monitors each client tenant against agreed guardrails and flags deviations in areas such as MFA coverage, device compliance, privileged access, external sharing and inactive accounts.

  • MODULE 04

    Cross-Tenant Risk Intelligence

Analyses patterns across client tenants to surface recurring weaknesses by sector, service tier or configuration type.

  • MODULE 05

    Evidence-by-Default Ledger

Records checks, remediation actions, exception approvals and client decisions as structured, time-stamped evidence during normal operations.

  • MODULE 06

    Exception Governance Engine

Manages security deviations with ownership, risk rating, expiry dates, compensating controls and review schedules, preventing temporary exceptions from becoming invisible and permanent.

  • MODULE 07

    Guardrail-to-Margin Engine

Links security control performance to commercial outcomes including ticket reduction, technician effort, retention risk and service upgrade opportunities.

  • Service Package Auto-Builder

Part of the commercial intelligence capability: the platform is designed to convert security posture gaps and operational burdens into service package and upgrade recommendations.

  3. 03

    Learn

The Security Delivery Genome learns from how the MSP actually delivers security.

  4. 04

    Compose

Generate client-specific security guardrails based on context rather than applying one generic baseline.

    Monitor

Continuously monitor client tenants for drift from agreed controls.

  6. 06

    Analyse

Identify recurring risks and patterns across the MSP's client portfolio.
